Witnessing protests in your city? Share your photos with CNN iReport.

They're preparing the signs. Lining up the locations. Getting ready to shut down traffic once again.

Protests in the growing movement against police brutality are on tap in dozens of communities across the nation on Friday, with more planned over the weekend.

The third day of demonstrations appeared to begin with two small protests that sprang up in Chicago.

On Thursday, marchers in Dallas, Boston, Chicago and Manhattan screamed for justice for Eric Garner and others killed, protesters say, without cause by police.

Life in northeast Pa. resumes as search ends for trooper-killing suspect Frein

Milford, Pennsylvania (CNN) - After 48 days of living with helicopters, heavily armed police officers, the rumors and constant questions - where is he? - the people of northeast Pennsylvania can finally relax.

The manhunt for Eric Matthew Frein, accused of killing a Pennsylvania state trooper, is over. Obama: Fight the 'cancer of violent extremism'

Kurdish forces make gains on ISIS in Iraq as NATO leaders promise help

(CNN) - Kurdish forces backed by U.S. air cover made gains Friday against ISIS fighters in Iraq's Mosul province as NATO leaders concluded a summit in Wales, pledging to help defeat the radical Islamic forces.

The Kurdish fighters, known as the Peshmerga, retook several villages seized this summer in ISIS' lightning assault in Iraq as well as high ground overlooking plains on the approach to Mosul, CNN's Anna Coren reported.

"It is a duty of everybody who loves democracy and freedom and human rights to struggle against the terrorists," said Iraqi Deputy Prime Minister Rowsch Shaways, a Kurd.

U.S. official: Attack targets Al-Shabaab leader, but his fate is unknown

Mogadishu, Somalia (CNN) - The U.S. military went into Somalia with one goal in mind: Kill Ahmed Abdi Godane, the leader of Al-Shabaab.

One day later, Pentagon spokesman Rear Adm. John Kirby said flatly, "We certainly believe that we hit what we were aiming at."

What he did not say is whether Godane is dead.

The United States is "assessing the effectiveness right now" of the attack launched hours earlier, Kirby said Tuesday, including who, if anyone, was killed.
