Reality show on Mars: Thousands compete for ticket to red planet

It's the true story of four strangers, picked to live in a pod and be sent on a one way mission to Mars to find out what happens when people stop being polite, and start getting real.

Thousands of people have sent in audition tapes to a Dutch non-profit that hopes to send four people to a human colony on Mars.

The project will be funded, in part, by a reality show that could make "Revenge of the Nerds" look like "Entourage."

Coke fizzles out with new ad

Coca-Cola, the iconic American soda company, is on the defensive with a new ad campaign assuring consumers that diet soda with artificial sweeteners like aspartame is safe.

"Here you have perhaps the most epic brand in the world, but they have a problem, their product is now being known as unhealthy," said branding consultant Dan Baum.

Sales are down across the board as consumers seek alternatives to sugary drinks. Even diet drinks are taking a hit.

So far Padron has raised about half of her goal, roughly $6,400, to survive four months in Washington D.C.

Ron Paul launches online TV channel

He didn't have the votes, but there is one thing former U.S. congressman and three time presidential candidate Ron Paul had that most other Republicans lacked in the past two presidential cycles – a young, enthusiastic fan base, and a campaign that took on a life of its own online.

Now, even in retirement, Paul is keeping the movement alive, with a new pay-per-view, web TV channel. The website crashed early Monday after the first show was posted online.
