(CNN) – Former Federal Prosecutor Paul Butler slammed the handling of the Ferguson grand jury, which decided Monday not to bring charges against Officer Darren Wilson in the shooting death of unarmed teenager Michael Brown.
"This grand jury was not going to indict the police officer for killing this young black child. Why? Because the prosecutor did not want them to," Butler said in an interview with CNN's "The Lead with Jake Tapper."

(CNN) – Video from the New York Times recorded after the news came down Monday about the grand jury decision in Ferguson showed a tearful Lesley McSpadden, Michael Brown's mother, speaking briefly to supporters before being overcome by emotion. Her husband - Brown's stepfather, Louis Head - consoles her, and then turns and revs up the crowd, saying "Burn this motherf-er down."
"He was expressing a sentiment that a lot of folks in that crowd felt and when he said those words, though, the mood did change and things got a little bit out of control," said St. Louis Alderman Antonio French, who was there when Head made the remarks.
(CNN) – The family of Michael Brown is at home, awaiting the announcement of a grand jury decision into the shooting death of their teenage son.
The Browns had heard an announcement would be made late Monday, but they learned that the grand jury had reached a decision from CNN.
Lawyer Daryl Parks, co-counsel for the Brown Family, said he has "no explanation whatsoever" as to why the family was not contacted more quickly.
