Australian Amb. on Sydney siege: 'Two lovely people' victims of an 'utter rat bag'

(CNN) - The Australian Ambassador to U.S. decried the "truly horrific" act of terrorism at a Sydney cafe on Monday, which left two hostages dead and four others wounded following a 16-hour standoff.

"These two lovely people and that utter rat bag. It’s truly horrific," Ambassador Kim Beazley remarked to CNN's Jake Tapper.

New details on Sydney victims who died as heroes

(CNN) - There are still more questions than answers into what really happened during that dramatic siege of a cafe in Sydney, Australia that left two hostages dead as well as the gunman, an Islamic extremist.

Jeb Bush attacked after announcing possible 2016 run

(CNN) - The competition for the 2016 race for the White House heated up today.

Former Florida Governor Jeb Bush took to Facebook to announce that he has decided to "actively explore the possibility of running for president of the United States."

CNN National Correspondent Suzanne Malveaux has more on the decision that has already sparked some sniping.

Who's behind the Pakistan terror attack?

(CNN) –Today's massacre of defenseless school children in Peshawar was carried out by the Pakistani Taliban in retaliation, the group says, for the killing of hundreds of innocent tribesman in north and south Waziristan by the Pakistani military.

CNN's chief national security correspondent Jim Sciutto looks into the group and the threat they might also pose to the United States.
