(CNN) – Denver, Colorado, hit 13 below zero Thursday, beating a 100-year-old record by 9 degrees.
From Minneapolis, to Chicago, to New York City, and all the way down to Charlotte, temperatures will drop tonight.
A so-called Omega Block, basically a block in the jet stream that is causing all of this cold air to come down from Alaska, is behind the biting cold.
