(CNN) – The alleged gunman behind Wednesday's Ottawa shootings, Michael Zehaf-Bibeau, had "connections" to jihadists in Canada who shared a radical Islamist ideology, including at least one who went overseas to fight in Syria, multiple U.S. sources told CNN on Thursday.

(CNN) – Supporters of Michael Brown, the unarmed teenager shot dead by a police officer in August, say leaks of the autopsy and details of investigation are doing more harm than good.
"My constituents feel as though this information that has been leaked is merely out in public to incite the community," State Senator Maria Chappelle-Nadal said in an interview with CNN's "The Lead with Jake Tapper."
"People are wondering, why now?" Chappelle-Nadal said, saying her constituents believe authorities are trying to rile up the community "instead of bringing peace."

(CNN) – Centers for Disease Control and Prevention officials are packing up and getting ready to go to New York City, where a doctor who returned from Guinea ten days ago is showing Ebola symptoms.
In such situations, the CDC usually sends "disease detectives," CNN's senior medical correspondent Elizabeth Cohen reports.
The so-called detectives will follow up with people the suspected patient had contact with, see if anyone s getting sick, give instructions on how to monitor themselves, and quarantine them if needed.

(CNN) – Frustration over leaks about the official autopsy results and alleged testimony from unnamed witnesses in the shooting death of unarmed teenager Michael Brown, is raising new ire in Ferguson.
Ire expressed at the highest levels at the U.S. Justice Department where Attorney General Eric Holder called the leaks "inappropriate and troubling," since they come while the grand jury is still convening and before the federal investigation has concluded.
