(CNN) – President Barack Obama appointed an 'Ebola czar' to coordinate the federal response to the deadly disease Friday.
But to the surprise of many, the President didn't turn to an infectious disease expert or medical scholar.
Instead, he tapped a well-known Washington insider, Ron Klain.

(CNN) – A lab supervisor from the hospital where Ebola patient Thomas Eric Duncan died remains quarantined on a cruise ship Friday, with more than 4,000 onboard.
The woman never had contact with Ducan, but may have had contact with his fluid samples.

Washington (CNN) – President Barack Obama will appoint Ron Klain his "Ebola czar," knowledgeable sources tell CNN.
The president on Thursday signaled his openness to the idea to have one individual coordinating the entire federal response to any threat of an outbreak in the United States.
"It may make sense for us to have one person ... so that after this initial surge of activity, we can have a more regular process just to make sure that we're crossing all the T's and dotting all the I's going forward," Obama said.
