(CNN) - Tens of thousands of protesters have been braving powerful rainstorms and an onslaught of tear gas and pepper spray as they enter day four of massive demonstrations in Hong Kong.

Even more people are expected to turn out today, as the country celebrates China's National Day.
CNN Senior International Correspondent Ivan Watson reports live from Hong Kong.
