Coalition airstrikes in Syria leave civilian casualties, activists say

(CNN) – Opposition activists, as well as opposition groups like the local coordination committees and the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, tell CNN that air strikes that took place in Aleppo and Idlib provinces caused civilian casualties.

The airstrikes did not against ISIS, but other Islamist groups that the U.S. designates terrorist organizations, and the opposition does not view as such.

If the campaign continues, and the U.S. and allies continue to go after non-ISIS targets, the civilian toll could potentially rise significantly. People are expressing their fear that another wave of refugees is on the horizon.

Moderate opposition activists tell CNN that America and its allies need to be very careful about who they strike, and where.
