Texas AG prepares to sue Obama administration over immigration failures

(CNN) – Republican Texas Attorney General Greg Abbott, a candidate for governor in the Lone Star state, is considering suing the federal government for what he says is a crisis that has cost Texas tax payers $50 million.

"This is a huge challenge for the state of Texas," said Abbott.

"We expect the President to live up to his responsibility, and the federal government's responsibility to secure our border, and to address this unprecedented influx of immigrants from Central America," he said.

Germany tells top U.S. spy official to leave the country

(CNN) – Germany's government has asked America's top spy chief stationed in the country to leave.

Boehner's new suit a tight fit

Reporter: Obama needs to 'show some regret' over spying allegations in Germany

(CNN) – The German government said Thursday it is expelling a person it describes as the representative of U.S. foreign intelligence services based at the U.S. Embassy in Berlin.

The move comes after two allegations emerged of Germans spying for the United States over the last week, claims prompting an investigation by German prosecutors of a suspect accused of passing secrets.

Asking an intelligence chief to pack up and go is a request normally reserved for pariah states like North Korea or Iran.

Just how much trust has the U.S. lost for Germany to do this?

Der Spiegel correspondent Holger Stark weighs in.
