Kansas City (CNN) – They are some of the funniest dudes in the country: "Anchorman" pals Paul Rudd and David Koechner, "Saturday Night Live" alum Jason Sudeikis, "Modern Family's" Eric Stonestreet, and "22 Jump Street's" Rob Riggle.
Believe it or not, all this funny comes from the same place: Kansas City. The yuksters recently returned to their hometown on a gravely serious mission – to raise money for sick children.
(CNN) – Nine-year-old Spencer Collins put a "Little Free Library" in his yard, a stand where anyone can donate or take a book from its shelves. He built it as a Mother's Day present.
"We were in Minnesota, and she saw one, and she really wanted it," said Spencer.
These little libraries are not uncommon, there's even a website where people can find one close by.
But Leawood City Council quickly asserted that the little library violated an ordinance that notes: "No detached structure including garages, barns, sheds, greenhouses, above ground pools, or outbuildings, shall be permitted, unless expressly allowed."
(CNN) – The extremist Sunni militant group ISIS, which recently declared a caliphate in parts of Syria and Iraq, wrested control of a major Syrian oil field in a sweeping land grab Thursday, a UK-based monitoring group said.
"This is what I call al Qaeda version 6.0," said former U.S. Ambassador to Iraq Ryan Crocker. ISIS is "far bigger, far better organized, better funded, better equipped than the al Qaeda of 9/11."

(CNN) - North Carolina seems to have dodged a bullet.
Hurricane Arthur did not dawdle over the coastline to vandalize neighborhoods for long. The storm accelerated its rapid trek north, the National Weather Service said, and was leaving land behind as the sun rose.
