Why won't Obama fire anyone?

(CNN) – President Barack Obama is resisting bipartisan calls for Veterans Affairs Sec. Eric Shinseki's resignation.

The President also did not dismiss Health and Human Services Sec. Kathleen Sebelius after the disastrous roll out of HealthCare.gov in October, and stood by Director of National Intelligence James Clapper after the intelligence chief gave what he characterized as the least untruthful" answer to Congress about surveillance on Americans.

Does he need to be a tougher manager?

National press secretary for the Obama 2008 campaign, now the senior strategist for the pro-obama SuperPAC Priorities USA Bill Burton, and CNN's Dana Bash weigh in.

Growing crowd of Democrats turn on Shinseki

(CNN) – It wasn't surprising from Republicans, but now a growing number of Democrats are joining the call for Veterans Affairs Secretary Eric Shinseki to step down.

At least 19 house Democrats and eight Senate Democrats so far want him to walk the plank, after they got a taste of an internal watchdog report that claims excessive appointment delays – and cover-ups to hide those delays – are "systemic throughout" the VA health care system.

Rep. Israel: Shinseki 'should resign, in my view'

(CNN) – Rep. Steve Israel, D-New York, joined a growing number of Democrats calling for Veterans Affairs Secretary Eric Shinseki's resignation, but warned the move would not solve systemic problems plaguing the VA.

"He should resign, in my view. But there are too many of my colleagues saying that that resignation is going to solve the problem. It's not going to solve the problem. What is going to solve the problem is a criminal investigation, with or without his resignation," Israel said in an interview with CNN's "The Lead with Jake Tapper."

If the move would bring "badly needed reforms" to the VA, says Israel, then Shinseki should resign.

NYC mayor may reverse 15-year ferret ban

(CNN) – It's the city that never sleeps. It's also the city that'll eat you alive if you sleep on it.

With the long list of problems affecting New York City right now – education, the growing gap between Wall Street and the hungry, traffic that will make you bite your steering wheel – nothing has divided the city more, and demanded the attention of city hall less, than the decades long fight over the right to own a ferret.

CNN's Jason Carroll reports.
