(CNN) – The U.S. response to the crisis in Ukraine has been sanctions, and more sanctions.
But a group of Republican senators says it's time the U.S. did more, like send weapons to bolster Ukrainian forces.
The top Republican on the Senate Foreign Relations Committee Sen. Bob Corker, R-Tennessee, is sponsoring a bill that would do just that.
"Most of us realize that nothing immediate is going to happen relative to (Ukraine's) military's ability," says Corker.
Corker is pushing tougher sanctions against Russia, as well as arms for Ukraine.
"This is part of an overall strategy. "The most important thing I think today to change Russia's behavior," says the senator.
