Politics: A wistful Chris Christie, and secret Clinton papers

(CNN) – With all the talk of 2016, and the looming scandals swirling around Chris Christie right now, the New Jersey governor made a golf metaphor today at a town hall meeting, an almost wistful one, that's turning a lot of heads.

"I'm not worried about politics anymore, everybody. This is it, i'm on the back nine. And when you're on the back nine, and you don't have to worry about playing another front nine, your only obligation is to tell people the truth," said Christie.

Texas ban on same-sex marriage struck down by federal judge

(CNN) - Texas on Wednesday became the latest state in which a federal judge struck down a ban on same-sex marriage, setting the stage for gay and lesbian couples to wed in one of the nation's most conservative states.

This was supposed to be a states rights issue, but "the dominoes are falling quickly," said CNN legal analyst Paul Callan.

Washington (CNN) – Democratic Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand held a hearing Wednesday on the relationship between military sexual assault, post-traumatic stress disorder, and suicide. Gillibrand, a member of the Senate Armed Services Committee, is also pushing a bill to take prosecution of sexual assault in the military out of the chain of command, a divisive measure that has opponents and supporters on both sides of the aisle.
