Did Fukushima disaster make U.S. sailors and Marines sick?

(CNN) – Dozens of American sailors and Marines who served in the Navy's mission are now reporting a series of serious health issues following their deployment to Japan to aid victims of the tsunami.

Now, they're suing Tokyo Electric Power Company, or TEPCO, saying the company was anything but forthcoming with the threat the citizens of Japan – and the American service members trying to help them – truly faced.

Sources: Airlines warned to beware of possible shoe bombs

(CNN) - The U.S. government has warned airlines to pay particular attention to the possibility of terrorists attempting to hide explosives in shoes, a result of new intelligence, according to two people familiar with the situation.

The officials stressed there is no specific threat or known plot.

Intelligence collected by the United States and other countries has indicated terror groups have been working on new shoe-bomb designs, the sources said Wednesday.

Protesters unaware of truce talks under way in Ukraine

(CNN) – After deadly clashes between security forces and protesters, Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych issued a statement Wednesday night declaring "the beginning of negotiations aimed at cessation of bloodshed and stabilization of the situation in the country for the sake of civil peace."

Hearing continued blasts nearby, "it could be fireworks, it could be a number of things, it certainly isn't a truce," CNN's Nick Paton Walsh says. Check out his report from Kiev in the video above.
