(CNN) - – A federal grand jury investigation has been launched into the West Virginia chemical spill that left 300,000 people unable to use their water supply, CNN learned Tuesday.
Nine counties were affected when the company, Freedom Industries, leaked as much as 7,500 gallons of coal-processing chemicals into the Elk River. Most people in the area are still using only bottled water, despite the assurances of the government that what's coming out of their faucets is safe to drink.
Now, CNN has the results of its own test of the water in the Elk River.
CNN investigative reporter Drew Griffin reports.
