Golden Globes get serious with Oprah snub

It's one of the biggest award shows of the year and yet many think the Golden Globes has all the restraint and refinement of a tween girl at a One Direction concert when it comes to celebrity obsession.

But, when all the nominations were announced this morning, the Hollywood Foreign Press Association passed on the opportunity to have one of the biggest stars on the plant front and center as a nominee: Oprah Winfrey.

So are the Golden Globes suddenly going high brow?
