McConnell editing victory speech

(CNN) – In Kentucky, many predict Republican incumbent Mitch McConnell is not only poised to reclaim his Senate seat, but perhaps a promotion.

McConnell has prepared those two perfunctory speeches for tonight: victory and concession. But as CNN's Brianna Keilar reports, it wasn't the concession speech he was editing and finalizing today.

Who is going to win Kentucky's Senate race?

(CNN) – A new set of NBC News/Marist polls unveiled Sunday morning gave Republicans boosts in a key Senate race - Minority Leader Mitch McConnell's in Kentucky, where Democrats had hoped to pickup a seat.

But Democratic candidate Alison Lundergan Grimes is not giving up, and things got a little emotional in Kentucky over the weekend.

Christie doubles down on tough Ebola stance

(CNN) – Four in ten Americans surveyed in a new CNN/ORC poll say the federal government is doing a poor job in its response to the Ebola threat.

New Jersey Republican Gov. Chris Christie – perhaps eyeing that opening – is staking out a tougher stance. But after releasing a nurse from quarantine in his state after three days, Christie is now trying to shake criticism from within his own party.

Chaos on multiple fronts hampers Obama administration

(CNN) – The White House is facing foreign policy chaos on multiple fronts – from failed attempts at a ceasefire in Gaza, to the explosion of a passenger jet over the Ukrainian war zone, to the rise of ISIS in Iraq, to a rush of central american migrants at the border.

There is essentially a laundry list of human agony abroad for the administration to grapple with right now, all with massive implications back home, and none with easy answers.
