(CNN) – Hurricane Arthur muscled up early Thursday evening, pouring heavy rain along the coast of North Carolina.
"We're probably pretty close to the eye wall," said Bill Blair, mayor of Wrightsville Beach, North Carolina. "It's probably going to get a little worse before it gets better."
The National Weather Service in Wilmington said 1 1/3 inches of rain fell during one hour Thursday afternoon. The office also tweeted that there was some flooding just south of downtown.
