(CNN) – The White House is in a situation where the enemy of my enemy is a dictator. It's not like the White House is going to call and thank Syria. This may have been inevitable, because if the U.S. isn't going to do airstrikes in Iraq, isn't there a vacuum for Syria and Iran to step in?
