(CNN) – Securing Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl's release in exchange for five Guantanamo Bay prisoners was a great deal for the Taliban, says a former FBI kidnapping negotiator.
"I would have been embarrassed to make this deal. Five for one? I can't see how this was a good deal for us, on top of that, from what I understand, they named the people they wanted," says Chris Voss, now CEO of Black Swan Group, a private negotiating company.
"It's also been reported that they refused to talk if the deal wasn't made. To me, that's embarrassing," said Voss.
