Avalanche kills 12 on Mount Everest

(CNN) – An avalanche on Mount Everest killed at least 12 sherpa guides, and seriously wounded three, four remain missing.

It is already the deadliest day ever on the famed peak. The victims of the disaster are the native Nepalese people who have been guiding climbers to the summit since the days of Edmund Hillary, the first explorer to make it up, and back down alive.

More than 330 foreign climbers have been given permission to climb this year, along with an estimated 400 sherpas to guide them home safely. One can only hope they all come back.

CNN's Jake Tapper reports.

Arianna Huffington: Hillary Clinton would be 'amazing role model,' if she runs without burning out

(CNN) – Media mogul Arianna Huffington is out with a new book, "Thrive," pushing ambitious people to add a bit of balance to their lives.

"Our society has shrunken the definition down to these two metrics of money and power, which is like trying to sit on a two-legged stool, sooner or later you fall off," said Huffington, founder of "The Huffington Post."

Too often, people chasing success put their own well-being on the back burner, much to their detriment, says Huffington.

"We need to realize that we're living under a collective delusion that equates burn out with success," says Huffington.

More underwater drones may join search for Flight 370

(CNN) – It has now been six weeks since Malaysia Airlines flight MH370 disappeared, along with the 239 people on board.

The U.S. Navy's underwater drone is now on its sixth trip scanning the ocean floor, the first five turned up no trace of the Boeing 777, or its so-called black boxes.

Now, as search crews continue to shift their focus below the surface, Malaysia says the Bluefin-21 could finally get a little help.

CNN's Pamela Brown has all the latest developments.
