Congresswoman Loretta Sanchez, D-California, senior member of the homeland security committee, was briefed Friday afternoon about the shooting incident at the Los Angeles International Airport, when a man opened fire, killing one person and injuring others before being shot and taken into custody.
"We know that the shooter was this 23-year-old American citizen, a resident of the L.A. area, Paul Ciancia," Sanchez said in an interview with CNN's "The Lead with Jake Tapper."
Ciancia "was armed when he was stopped at the first initial place where you go to show your boarding pass to the TSA person and your ID That's when he pulled out the weapon," said Sanchez.
