Jimmy Kimmel: NBC moving on from Jay Leno "makes perfect sense"

Join us on at 4pm for our full interview with late night host Jimmy Kimmel

Reports are out that Jimmy Fallon will be replacing Jay Leno on The Tonight Show, putting him in a position to go head-to-head with Jimmy Kimmel. We checked in with Kimmel on the late night wars which have heated up since he moved to 11:30pm.

NBC's move, in many ways, has to be a direct response to Kimmel's move to the coveted late night hour.

"God, I hope so," says Kimmel of NBC's motivations. "Obviously, NBC is looking to move on, because they did it once already. This would be the second time that this has happened."

The former Comedy Central star says NBC moving on from Leno, and moving Fallon to 11:30, "makes perfect sense."

"Jimmy Fallon is doing a great job. And he’s very popular," says Kimmel, who adds that Leno's departure is inevitable.

"I mean, hey, eventually, it’s going to happen one way or the other."
